Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 September 2026
These Terms govern access to WhyWait, a booking and queue-management marketplace operated by WhyWait Ltd. By browsing, creating an account, or making or managing a booking, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
The WhyWait platform
WhyWait helps customers discover participating barbershops, view availability, reserve appointments and join managed queues. Each barbershop is an independent business and is responsible for the services it provides, its staff, premises, prices and professional standards.
WhyWait provides the booking technology and does not perform barbering services. A booking creates an arrangement between the customer and the selected barbershop, subject to these Terms and any clearly disclosed shop-specific conditions.
Bookings and customer responsibilities
- Provide accurate contact and booking information and keep it up to date.
- Check the shop, service, barber, date, time and price before confirming.
- Arrive on time and follow reasonable health, safety and conduct requirements at the shop.
- Pay the displayed balance directly to the shop after the service unless stated otherwise.
- Use the rescheduling and cancellation process rather than abandoning a reserved chair.
Deposits, cancellations and no-shows
A £1.50 non-refundable deposit is charged to secure each booking. Rescheduling, late cancellation, shop cancellation and no-show rules are explained in the Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. The remaining service price is ordinarily paid to the shop.
Accounts and access
You are responsible for keeping account credentials confidential and for activity carried out through your account. Tell WhyWait promptly at support@whywaitapp.co.uk if you believe an account has been compromised.
Staff access is limited to authorised personnel for the relevant shop. Owners and staff must not share access outside their business, misuse customer information, or attempt to view or change another shop's records. WhyWait may suspend access to protect customers, shops or the platform.
Acceptable use
You must not use WhyWait unlawfully; make fraudulent or speculative bookings; scrape, reverse engineer or disrupt the service; introduce malicious code; impersonate another person; harass customers or shop staff; or use platform data for unauthorised marketing.
Availability and changes
Live availability depends on information supplied by participating shops. WhyWait aims to keep the platform available and accurate but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or that a barber will never need to change or cancel a slot. Material changes to these Terms will be posted here with a revised update date.
Liability and consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under UK consumer law and liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
To the extent permitted by law, WhyWait is not responsible for the quality or outcome of services delivered by independent shops, or for indirect losses that were not reasonably foreseeable.
Ending access and governing law
You may stop using WhyWait at any time. WhyWait may restrict or close access where these Terms are breached or where necessary for security, legal or operational reasons. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without removing any mandatory rights you have where you live.
